Berlin, October 6th, 2020: Dr. Olaf Ernst joins the Knowledge Unlatched (KU) team as Chief Solutions Officer (CSO) from the start of October. Alongside supporting and developing customer solutions within the current KU product portfolio, he will also be focusing on Oable, KU’s new solution which was recently launched in order to provide institutions with a new and unique workflow tool to manage their Open Access activities.

Dr. Sven Fund, Managing Director of KU, says: “I have known Olaf for quite some time, and I am really glad that we can bring him on board now on this exciting journey with KU. Olaf has gained significant experience in his nearly 20 years working in academic publishing. In senior management and board member roles at Springer and IOP Publishing, he has impressively demonstrated how to successfully implement customer solutions which deliver value and impact.”

Dr. Olaf Ernst says, “The ecosystem of scholarly publishing is in transition towards new business models and solutions to customers. Open Science is in my view one of the most exciting and challenging developments in this context. The opportunity to play a pivotal role at KU in developing innovative and value-added solutions for customers within this ecosystem is one which very much appeals to me. I am really looking forward to this.”
