Announcing the Appointment of Mirela Roncevic as Head of Content at Knowledge Unlatched
Dear publishing partners,
I am delighted to announce that Mirela Roncevic has been appointed as the Head of Content at Knowledge Unlatched (KU), effective immediately. In this role, Mirela will lead all aspects of content development at KU, including fostering strong publisher relationships and curating a wide range of Open Access (OA) collections—spanning books, journals, and other scholarly publications—for libraries worldwide to support.
Mirela brings extensive expertise and a deep understanding of the OA landscape to this position. Over the past six years at KU, she has worked closely with institutions and libraries across Europe and the UK, playing a pivotal role in promoting KU’s content and encouraging active participation in our annual crowdfunding campaigns. Prior to joining KU, Mirela held a variety of editorial, sales, and marketing roles across several publishing organizations. She also holds a Ph.D. in information science, specializing in sustainable business models for OA content.
Mirela will take on this role from Max Mosterd, who will focus his attention on other projects. Max and Mirela have already begun working on the transition and handover of publisher-related tasks to Mirela. I would like to thank Max sincerely for the work he has done in the interim and the impact he has made during the transition.
I am very excited about this new chapter for Mirela and KU and I am confident that under Mirela’s leadership, we will continue to develop impactful OA collections that benefit the global research community.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Best, Olaf
Dr. Olaf Ernst, Chief Solutions Officer at KU
