Why is this useful?
KU Open Funding is designed to promote OA book programs. Publishers have their OA offers in one central place, increasing access and visibility for researchers. The platform streamlines the BPC payment process for all involved. Most importantly, it allows researchers to find the right publication offer for their publication needs with effective search functions.
How does it work?
1. Publishers first insert their unique (OA) offers and publication specifications in the (KU) portal 2. Institutions can deposit an amount for the Book Processing Charge (BPC) funding with KU 3. Researcher finds a suitable publication offer using comprehensive and clear selection criteria 4. Once he/she has chosen an offer, the publisher is being paid by KU with the deposited funds.
